week 7 meeting

[welcome back to Quark’s! the doors are open. the sign is still on the wall next to the door, with a glaring new addition. a few of the tables and couches have been pushed together and bento boxes made for everyone (Riful’s is mystery meat. don’t worry about it.)

Quark and Cerejeira are both here, of course. as with the last meeting, there's paper and pens for notes. gotta get our records (ha) straight, right? although Cerejeira is dressed a little different today.

once everyone is gathered and sat down, she claps her hands... then looks a bit embarrassed about it.]

Okay, uh... [she clears her throat.] Let's get started.

[really, she'd much prefer not talking about this. the trial is an awful, rotten memory that she'd much rather toss aside right now. but... she'll do her best to compartmentalize. never mind the dark clouds appearing right as she's opening her mouth, it's fine.]

So, we should talk about what happened. During... the trial. [she sets the fake chaos emerald down on the table in front of her.] Keeping our personal feelings to ourselves for a moment, we did see results. Not the result Omega was hoping for, but a result nonetheless...

And then... there's that voice. [you know, our green text buddy.] Whoever they may be.

Well, whomever they are, they’re not hidin’ any more. And Ugly didn’t seem to be that big of a fan.

As for the other thing, how about we just agree to ignore what we see unless you see someone walkin’ towards a cliff or something, then stop ‘em.

the lift/new info

Alright, so last week, the lift got checked out. [he’s not saying by who, don’t worry about it.] The way it’s controlled is pretty complex for the other things around here. It's not like the lifts on the space station, but apparently they're impressive for a place like this. [he didn't think they were much, but someone else was more impressed than he was.] At the bottom, there were some mechanisms that controled the lift. It looks like it works from the bottom up. So I dunno if we can get further into the center of this place that way, but it's worth a shot. Maybe tomorrow night?

Anyone got any ideas of how to get down there, other than makin' a rope out of fabric or something?

Oh, and besides that, who’s found anything new in this place?

[There are rules to being a vampire. Rules Astarion has long gotten used to, of course, but there are still rules. The brief period where he had the damn mindflayer worm in his head put a stop to them for reasons he's still not sure about, but unfortunately, that did not last.

So he stands as close to the threshold as he physically can.]

[Of course they can hear him, he's just being irritating intentionally.]

I would like to be invited to this very important meeting, but a certain someone revoked my previous invitation.

Velvet just goes over and opens the door. ]

...Quark? If Astarion's banned from the bar and we're having a meeting...maybe Aoi can just not let him have any drinks.

Sure, no problem. [he pushes to his feet, moving to flip on the music on the Dabo table and turn it up]

That should drown out any caterwauling.

[Astarion smiles brilliantly.]

[And then he saunters in like he wasn't just being a dick.]

[on the one hand. she's still feeling bad. on the other hand

Maybe just, like... deny him a glass?

...It's damaged, but it's still got power. Sustained use is almost certainly too risky, but it can probably still be used in bursts as long as it's controlled.

Well, I can't stop you from kicking him out now or any other time, but can you at least let him sit in on this meeting?

[ There's no edge to her voice! But there is a sense of finality. ]

[Quarks jaw works at that, and he huffs, scowling, folding his arms.]

[She says as if she’s asking Cerejeira despite saying “Astarion”.]

As much as I appreciate the offer, I have a rather specific dietary restriction.

Not to worry, my supply is still plentiful enough for both myself and Riful!
