Week Five

Two more have left your side, gone to wherever Typhon has whisked them away to. And, no matter how little you might care about his threats, it seems that he's got no intention of stopping them anytime soon. Unfortunately, there's no sign of Athena on the horizon either, but perhaps those statues that bear a remarkable similarity to her might be the key you need to overthrowing the Titan before things get worse.

In better news, a new floor has once again revealed itself. You're free to venture further down into the island - perhaps further than you'd think was possible.

Even the less perceptive among you might notice how all around you, things seem to be... healing. Even your living area has experienced a noticeable shift. Plants are greener, a few flowers are in bloom. The sun shines bright. Despite it all, life continues alongside you. Or, perhaps, because of you.

Quark's Bar

[Quark wanders downstairs after going through his morning routine. Best get a good look around the place and listen for anything interesting.

He recoils from the heat of the forge a bit, and peers into the crafts room with a curious look. Then, finally, he reaches the last door...and finds himself looking at a room covered in grapevines. Quark's eyes narrow as he steps further into the room, taking a look around--and spots the counter in the back.]

...no. Don't tell me--

[He hurries across the room to the counter, reaching out to run his hand over it almost wonderingly. Then he leans forward to peer behind it, and his eyes widen at what he thinks he spots back there. He steps around the counter, moving slowly, as if he goes any faster, he'll find this all to be a dream. He touches the bottles, the casks, taking in the labels. There's a grin on his face that stretches wider and wider as he finally steps back to look at the entirety of what's behind the bar. He turns back to the rest of the room, taking that all in next. Then, it all seems to sink in.

This is a bar.

Quark lets out a whoop, not even bothering to go around; he vaults himself up over the counter, sliding across it to get to the other side start moving at a near jog to head upstairs to go get everything from the Eatery and move it down.

He laughs, brightly, jumping up and clicking his heels together at the luck of it.

He can be found the rest of the day moving things from the Eatery down to the the Bar and setting it up. If you're one of the people that now work at the bar, Quark will probably rope you into helping. Though...let's be real, most people he'll probably try to rope into helping a little bit. He'll also be putting together a new sign, even!]

[As she's carrying something that looks way too heavy for someone of her frame-]

You planning on leaving the eatery alone entirely, or keeping it as a satellite location?

[Quark's got an armful of glasses]

Eh, I don't really have the staff for any kind of franchising. For now, I'll leave it. If it turns out that people liked sitting upstairs, then maybe I'll see what I can do.

[Another sunday, another scout of the new facilities available to them. The bathhouse was truly the best gift Aglaea could hope for, so she takes her time getting up, getting breakfast, and relaxing at the bath house for an hour or so. Once the last bits of tension from the past few days melt away, she gets out of the water, dries off, and heads downstairs.

The forge holds her interest for just a moment, and she has to pause and chuckle a little at the bar - she's sure Quark is going to be living there for the next few weeks. She turns, making her way through the winding hall protecting the next room from the forge's heat, and-]

... Ah.

[... This must be like what Cifera feels, when she sees something particular shiny. Or when she buries her face in a fresh pile of catnip. The Craft Room is gorgeous - the parchment and quills are nice, the spools of ribbons and streamers of all colors catch her eye for a few moments, but what truly enraptures her is the loom. She zeroes in on that like she's in a trance, reaching out and running her fingers along the smooth wood of it. She spies the bolts of fabric, all sorts of colors and patterns and textures, the thread and the yarn, and lets out a slow breath.]

Absolutely gorgeous.

[Quark is passing by on the way from the Bar to the Eatery, and pauses in the doorway when he spots Aglaea there. He makes an abrupt change of direction, turning to walk into the Craft Room.]

Don't you look pleased.

[cause there's no cops around, technically it's not illegal]

But I suppose it would be a little bit of a market oversaturation, unless there was a good way to differentiate them.

Thanks for noticing, but I'm not really looking for a relationship right now.

What, are you saying you wanna go into business with me here?

I was a little under the impression we already were, to an extent. I don't share coffee for just anyone.

[Quark considers that with a thoughtful noise.]

Point.

[he tilts his head a bit to look at her as they walk]

What do you think of maybe a coffee shop or something? Like a cafe?

[Even with how she's defrosted over the past few weeks, Aglaea still isn't terribly vibrant with her emotions. So her smile, the shine in her eyes - that might as well be like the glow of the sun coming from her.]

Indeed I am. I've been hoping for more proper materials for clothes and shrouds for some time now.

Hm. Thinking quite highly of yourself, Vanity?

[Her voice is light and airy as always - completely unaffected by the joke.]

But if you're looking for something new to wear instead, I can now much more easily provide that.

[Oh?? His head tilts at that in interest.]

Clothes, huh?

[She nods.]

Before I was the leader of Okhema and the Chrysos Heirs, I was a dressmaker. Even after taking up those roles, I kept that business going - it was one of the few passions I could still indulge in, besides visiting the bathhouses.

S'that so. [he considers her for a moment]

Did you make suits, too?

Suits aren't particularly common on Amphoreus, but I've seen enough photos from a recent companion of mine to understand what needs to be done.

[Stelle had shown her a photo of one of the other members of the Astral Express - Welt Yang, was it? That suit of his didn't seem all that complicated...]

It might take a few days as it's something I've never made before, but I'm sure I could make one.

If it'd be easier, I got one of mine back from Zvei, so now I've got two. [he gestures to what he's wearing] If you'd like to borrow one for study.

I'm told it's apropos.

[You could say she's displaying a lot of vnarcissism.]

[The offer gets her attention, though.]

Oh? What are you asking in return?

That would be quite the help, yes. Thank you.

[And she knows exactly where this is going, so no reason to beat around the bush.]

Do you have a preference of color or material, before I start on something for you?

Nothing.

[Honest. No sarcasm, no hint of a "but..." or "except" hanging at the end of her words.]

It's been some time since I've been able to simply indulge in this passion of mine without having to keep my attention divided on every aspect of life in Okhema, the war against the black tide, and the schemers wishing to see me tossed from the tallest lookout in the city.

Besides, I'm already planning on making something for Lebkuchen. Adding another design to my list is nothing.
