Event 1: Gods and Monsters

[Time is a bit difficult to measure in this place. The storms that rage beyond your safe barrier, overtaking the horizon with their shifting lights and shadows, aren't doing it any favors. If you were to ask Athena, she'd say it's been about a week since your arrival. And since then... there's been scant signs of things improving.

Today, you wake up to quiet. No drone of distant winds. Not even birdsong breaches your bedrooms. Like a inhaled breath, the world seems to have paused.

And then, it exhales. The ground under your feet trembles and shakes. Dirt flies. Rocks shower down from the direction of the cliffs.

There, like an open wound stabbed into the earth, was a large crack where there wasn't before, spilling out an oppressive red light. Stranger still, some larger rocks are floating over the opening itself.

When we would spend nights going over war plans he would drink it like water, and I would occasionally partake if I needed to desperately fight off sleep. That... well, with how things are going, I feel I need that kind of focus right now.

Ha! Most likely! He is a foul, shady man. But you could not find a more reliable ally, especially when it comes to finding secrets. He can not perform on my level in a battle though.

In my opinion, it's the foul, shady ones that're the best in a pinch. [he says this with some wry amusement]

Hubert von Vestra. And yes, I agree I think you would. You have a similar wry humor, though his tends to be a bit... darker.

Eh, friend is a stretch. More like colleague. Ex-spy and assassin, exiled from his home planet, now works as a tailor on the station. You gotta assume he's always lying, but then sometimes you wonder if he's telling the truth. Which is probably also a lie. Makes a great suit though.
