Event 1: Gods and Monsters

[Time is a bit difficult to measure in this place. The storms that rage beyond your safe barrier, overtaking the horizon with their shifting lights and shadows, aren't doing it any favors. If you were to ask Athena, she'd say it's been about a week since your arrival. And since then... there's been scant signs of things improving.

Today, you wake up to quiet. No drone of distant winds. Not even birdsong breaches your bedrooms. Like a inhaled breath, the world seems to have paused.

And then, it exhales. The ground under your feet trembles and shakes. Dirt flies. Rocks shower down from the direction of the cliffs.

There, like an open wound stabbed into the earth, was a large crack where there wasn't before, spilling out an oppressive red light. Stranger still, some larger rocks are floating over the opening itself.

There's plenty different habitations out there. Some are nicer than others, but you gotta make sure you've got the resources for them.

As for Deep Space 9, it's a huge space station. The main area most people spend time in is the Promenade. It's a large ring with shops and restaurants of all kinds. Above it is a catwalk that also leads to the second floor of the bar. You can see the stars from there. From there, you've got the docks, the holds for cargo, and then the habitation ring, where everyone lives. It's big, and we've got new people coming in and out every day.

How marvelous, to live among the stars like that! Well, I suppose it must be a bit dangerous as well...

It's not the safest but there are plenty of planets that would be just as if not usually more dangerous, to be honest.

If they didn't enjoy it, nobody'd ever do it.

How lovely! It is...difficult to imagine ponykind ending up that way, but I suppose they may yet.

Why's that? [he can't really see why any race wouldn't eventually make it to space, honestly. Many have already.]

Hrm...well, pegasi might be interested, or unicorns. But earth ponies are quite tied to the earth and its rhythms. I cannot imagine that many of them would enjoy living separately from it.

I suppose I might try tending the garden. Though I've rarely done such things...

Better to be prepared, I'd say. Hopefully they'll be able to stay untrampled if those skeletons show up again.
