Arrival
The moment is a bit different for everyone. Perhaps you were just minding your own business somewhere, others may have been in more... dire circumstances. Regardless, you were approached by a figure you can't quite picture, and they offered you an accord; in exchange for aiding them in the healing of a world lost to chaos, you would be granted something almost unheard of. Godhood.
And each of you said yes, more or less.
A blurry hand, shifting and rippling, reaches out to you. You feel a glow of warmth, unlike anything you've known before. As soon as you think you can describe it, you wake up.
The room you're in is plainly furnished, but it's about the size of a small flat. Plenty of room to stretch your legs. Don't get too comfortable, however. On the bedside table each room has is a letter; handwritten, it's wrapped around a bronze key. The lettering could only be described as the platonic ideal of 'neat and precise'.
If you are reading this, than our deal has been made. You've awoken in a place that will surely feel strange, so I want you to take some time to acclimate. Meet with the others. Breathe. I shall be along shortly.

Whatever that means becomes more apparent as you step out of your housing and behold the world around you. The building you were in, and every piece of architecture you happen across, is blatantly pre-modern. Yet, something about it is otherworldly. Stone and iron and glass as far as the eye can see.
But above you was where the real questions were. It wouldn't be right to say the sun was shining on you now, nor would it be right to say it's the dead of night. Instead, the sky is a hazy mixture of both, wrapped in suffocating storm clouds that are threatening rain. Everywhere you look, into the horizon, it's the same.
Welcome home. Take your time and explore. Nobody ever said godhood was easy.

[If that wasn't supposed to be an invitation to spar, Ranma doesn't know what is. Vanity's catlike smile is returned in kind.]
Only if you're feelin' brave enough to try.
no subject
Bravery doesn't enter into it.
[She hangs her jacket on a nearby dummy, taking a casual ready stance.]

[Frame of reference might be skewed, yeah. But. Game recognizes game. He can pick up how well others are built or trained by their physique. Plus they're both lean, wiry built people. So kudos to Vanity there.
But whether someone's built like a mountain or a twig doesn't always determine a battle's outcome.
Ranma... doesn't follow suit, actually. That red silk shirt's staying on, and he makes no attempt to mirror Vanity's stance. His arms remain nonchalant crossed behind his back, with a casual smile plastered on his face, like they aren't actually gonna fight.]
Ready when you are!

[She's just going to kind of- flow forward, quickly, spinning up into a high kick.]
[Boot to the head.]

[Ladies first after all! Hold your gasp, he can be chivalrous in a blue moon.
As the other rapidly approaches him, Ranma doesn't make a single move to block or counter Vanity's attack.
What he does when she reaches him and throws out a high kick, is lean his body in a way that her foot comes within a breadth of making contact and take one step back.
All while holding that same damned smile on his face silently goading her on without any words uttered.]

[he's more of a waterbender than an airbender lbr
Ranma responds to every kick and punch coming his way with dodge after dodge while on the backfoot. Tilting, ducking, ghosting around Vanity's attacks, making it look so effortless.]
C'mon, step it up!
[He teases now, but all that wiggle room running out might change his tune soon. Both of them had gone from the middle of the training ground to where the first aid supplies are stocked, meaning Ranma's space to back up is wearing thin.]

[Fine, fine, she's gonna kind of- go for a leg sweep and then quickly spin up into a palm-strike to the chest while Ranma's- probably hopping in the air to dodge? That's how this is going in her head, at least.]
no subject
Only a little!~
[Translation: he's exuding confidence by the buckets that its starting to overflow.
Vanity's right on the money there, as that's exactly what Ranma goes for. He jumps over the leg and over her head in chest-striking range.
Only right as Vanity goes for it, Ranma returns his own during his arc over the bespectacled girl, both semi-hi fiving her and blocking her attack. He doesn't stay airborne, landing behind her and attempts sweeping at her legs himself. How the turn tables.]

[She's in the process of spinning to face him, but the leg sweep is fast enough to send her tumbling back. She catches herself on her hands, kicking up hard with both feet.]

[phineas flynn voice yes yes he did.
Speed is the name of the game here. And like with the kick and earlier attacks, Ranma's quick to defend with one of his arms. To fully knock her down, he's gonna attempt another kick to those hands.]
