Okay, maybe it hasn't been so easy. You've been enjoying a relatively pleasant time here with your fellow gods and Athena, only for a disgruntled Titan to seemingly pull the rug out from under that.

Despite the immediate threat from a hidden foe, you've managed to stave off their first attack. However, even if the grass may seem greener this week, or the sky a bit clearer, Athena can barely hide her troubled feelings. If this experiment is to be a success, what has to happen to make it that way?

You're all alive, though. That's worth celebrating, isn't it?

Mm. [ a noncommittal answer, as she roasts a marshmallow. ]

It helps clear out the noise, I think. [ it's not that different from a signal, really. ]

[Aoi could potentially say something profound about how quiet the universe seems aside from the crackle of the fire. However, she has a different, more important thought.]

Do you have more marshmallows?

[ she just holds up the bag. ]

Catch. [ and yeah just giving it a little underhand toss. ]

[yourheroine]

[Aoi does her best to catch the bag, fumbling with it a little to keep it from falling to the ground.]

Boop boop! A jackpot!

[Aoi pops a marshmallow into her mouth.]

Shayo ish weawwy— [She takes a moment to swallow her marshmallow.] Sayo’s really nice.

[tripartites]

[ that comment gets a little laugh, as sayo finally pulls her marshmallow away from the flame and blows out the lingering fire on the mass. ]

Thank you, Aoi-san. But it's really just... [ well... hm. she appears to reconsider her own words, humming as she pops the blackened gooey mass into her mouth. finally, once she's swallowed it, she speaks up again. ]

No, never mind. I'm happy you think so.

“Aoi-san”…

[She considers it for a few seconds, chewing on it as well as another marshmallow, before swallowing the treat and shaking her head.]

Nope. Just “Aoi” is fine. If we’re gonna be friends and I call you “Sayo”, you can call me “Aoi.”

[tripartites]

[ friends... well, she can't say she's opposed, really. it's just strange being addressed on even terms without any artifice. not bad. just... strange. ]

... Aoi, then. Sorry, I don't often... [ a slight shake of her head, and a huff of air. ]

I don't often talk to many people around my age. And when I have, it's usually been as a servant... I'm used to more distance.

Servant? Does that mean you're a maid? Like a maid cafe or cleaning a real mansion?

A real mansion, yes, on one of the Izu islands. Though I was about to leave the job when I was brought here...
