Okay, maybe it hasn't been so easy. You've been enjoying a relatively pleasant time here with your fellow gods and Athena, only for a disgruntled Titan to seemingly pull the rug out from under that.

Despite the immediate threat from a hidden foe, you've managed to stave off their first attack. However, even if the grass may seem greener this week, or the sky a bit clearer, Athena can barely hide her troubled feelings. If this experiment is to be a success, what has to happen to make it that way?

[His routine on Tuesday may have been disturbed. They might be in a solid bit of trouble now. But even the Dominion couldn't stop Quark from sticking around and trying to make a profit. So.

Once more, like the past several mornings, Quark goes out with a large toga as a surface and sets up shop near the bonfire. He sits in a chair that he's dragged out of the Eatery, arms folded, lost in thought.

After doing plenty of thought and having been outside for a couple of hours, Quark goes back inside with whatever remains, storing them away, before going to look for Vanity, and then Lebkuchen.

Finally, once he's done that, he's getting started on an idea that he had during that whole thinking bit. He can be found a couple hours later starting to hang up signs with Krazy Gloo wherever he can find space.:]

[Aoi spends the majority of Wednesday hunting for a signal to contact her God. Taking the idea of higher ground to heart, Aoi can be found by the cliffside, holding her phone up to the sky and transmitting with all her might.]

[Eventually, Aoi needs a break and goes to the eatery, drinking the sports drink she got from the cornucopia a few days ago.]

This is...okay. Aoi can't taste any friendship in it.

[When the sun sets, Aoi is by the bonfire, staring at it intently.]

[It's hard to miss the continuous boop boops booping, doubly so when he was already planning on coming here. Ranma did want to scale the side of the cliff, or attempt to, see how far he can go before he bumps into that forcefield.

That's going on the backburner in favor of. This. He eyes the object Aoi's waving like a fan with a lighter at a rock concert. He's never seen it before but if he had to wager a guess...]

[ Alex doesn't speak up just yet, but he's close by. Not...exactly close to the fire. But he always seems to have his eye on it, when someone else is here. You can never be too careful around fire. ]

What would friendship taste like?

[In a time of uncertainty, there is one consistent thing you can count on, and that is Ferdinand von Aegir. His routine has barely changed since day 2. Oh, he's added flight training with Derick, and patrols with Omega. And if one is paying attention he makes a slightly bigger breakfast so if Aoi wanders by he can make sure she has some. But otherwise it is as steady as a ticking clock.

What does change is the afternoon. Where he might usually spend time exploring or chatting or read in the scroll room... after yesterday he goes to the training ground and doesn't leave until nightfall. He tries to start out slow. Warming up. Practicing mindfulness when it comes to his body. But within a few hours he's stripped to the waist and going a bit feral on the dummies with the training weapons and even his own fists. Drenched in sweat and teeth bared. If nothing else his stamina is impressive but that certainly doesn't look healthy.

Honestly be glad he manages to drag himself back to his room to bathe and maybe sleep instead of going all night too]

[ At some point in Ferdinand's routine—after he's been going at it for awhile—Alex approaches. Okay, not...really approaches, because he does not want to get close, especially not if Ferdinand's got any of those training weapons out. But he clears his throat from a distance away. ]

Yep. This is definitely healthy. There's nothing wrong with McFreaking Losing It especially after the grand shitstorm. Ranma himself was planning on doing that, though nowhere to the extent of Ferdie. He spent the last ten or so minutes watching the golden labrador of a human being bodying the dummies.

After the eleven minute marker, a plastic water bottle will be tossed at the man's feet from behind.]

It's gonna break if you keep goin' at it like that.

[Ranma, stripped to the waist himself though he's still wearing a black muscle shirt, comments plainly while doing some idle warm-up stretches in place.]

[Seymour could say something. Could interrupt him, but Ferdinand isn't the sort of person who would stop even if he were to do so-- this much he can tell.

So instead, he merely raises a hand to cast a simple Cure spell. It's not as powerful as it would be back in Spira, but at the very least it should ease any ache in Ferdinand's muscles.]

[ In different circumstances, Velvet might have stared (and then go smack her head against the wall for a bit for being an idiot), but the apparent single-minded focus he's going at it worries her instead. It feels...uncharacteristic of what she's seen of him thus far. ]

[With so many of the people here being awake during the day, Astarion does try to sleep at night, but, well... he's still a vampire, and has been used to the Underdark. That daylight isn't entirely a thing here means he has to be less... careful.

But he still has his wits about him, which is why he notices the change in Ferdinand.]

I don't think that's a very good training regiment. You'll exhaust yourself.

[His tone is a little flippant, but it's laced with concern.]

[ look she's dead and doesn't believe in love but that doesn't mean she can't look disrespectfully at a shirtless man with a sword??? she would also do this if it was a shirtless woman with a sword! she's equal opportunity!

there's a small phantom ache where her ability to feel ashamed or aroused or... anything that isn't performative about this used to be, as she thinks of all the Snow Whites who must have found their princes. how much easier it would be to be one of them. how much easier it would be to not know. ]

I feel like you could charge for this sort of thing if you really wanted more coins. Just a thought.

[Ah, Misane has been at work! For several days, actually, when she was bored.

This is the first time anyone will see Misane work with clay. She's almost done, really. She created something about two feet tall, of a man with what's meant to be a heroic pose, with a hand held up high. Problem is that Misane doesn't know how sculpting works, so she has, uh, she has used long twigs and sticks to make the arm stay up. She planted these sticks on a bunch of clay, which she also placed on a mostly flat piece of metal.

That's why she's at the bonfire, holding the piece of metal over the fire, trying to make the clay solidify.

It's quite funny -- this clay sculpture is recognizable enough to be Ferdinand because the hair is unmistakable. She managed to depict it faithfully enough to be recognizable. But the face is just a :) carved on a lumpy surface, because she failed hard at making the face]

Which is to say Velvet is interested, even if she can see this is the work of someone who isn't sure how it works. ]

[While Ferdinand spends most of the day venting his spleen at training, there is a short period between his morning work and going there where he spots Misane.

He honestly forgot her promise to make him a new statue.]

[ After hiding away yesterday Leb is finally leaving her room again today, stopping first by the pavilion to see if her scroll is still there. When she finds it she opens it and takes a look, eyes widening just slightly. ]

She's still...?

[ Depicted inside is a sweet little old lady. Because of course it is. Who else could it be? ]

Oh granny... I'm so sorry...

[ After picking it up it's back to the kitchen where she's hard at work on the apple strudel she promised Quark for the bar. Expertly sliced apples, delicate decorations of dough... her hands are on auto pilot, not needing her numbed mind to do the work. The only time she actually needs to think is when she has to remember what she was shown with the oven.

When it's done and cooled she just stares at it blankly on the counter, not even comforted by the familiar scent. ]

[ Alex means to just go to the eatery. He wants to drop off this...admittedly very delicious looking pastry, for someone who can actually enjoy it.

But the smell, identical to the apple strudel he carries yet fresher, draws him into the kitchen.

Oh. She'd said...she lived in a bakery, right? He should've figured... ]

[ Ah, look at that. He has been practicing. ]

[sniff sniff... well. he is an obligate carnivore. but that doesn't mean he can't have little an apple strudel, as a treat.]

My, does something in here smell delicious. Should I guess what you are making before I hop up on the counter?

Kitchen slides in here late because I wanted to tag her...

[It's the smell that draws Seymour into the kitchen, warm and somehow comforting even though he doesn't recognize what it is. His eyes fall upon the pastry cooling on the counter, then flit to Lebkuchen, looking at it as if she could see right through it, her mind clearly elsewhere.]

... it will grow cold.

[It's said softly, a gentle prompt to nudge her back to reality.]
