souls have been lost and the panic grows
[That... that was hell, actually. Wendy didn't like that at all. After the trial she... has to head to the kitchen and hopefully not find clay shit everywhere. She needs to do something to keep things under control. To keep things going.
She's not a great cook but she knows the basics. Meat. Bread. Cheese. Something warm for the belly to drink. She's nervous when she works but she's relentless. There's no asking for help from her as she makes a spread for everyone. Then... she's moving all of it not to the eatery but the bonfire.
Making makeshift tables around it and placing trays of food and drink. Even setting up a chair for Alex a good distance away from the fire but close enough that he can be part of things if he wants to.
Wendy, with her careful writing, writes up some notes and hands them out to everyone if she can find them or if not under their door.
Food at the bonfire and the area around it. Attendance not mandatory but it's probably better for all of us if we stick together. Bring more food and drink if you want.

[Hmm.]
I do not know whether this world has its own rites for the dead, but with Athena absent, I thought it wise to do something in her stead. Perhaps souls linger here, perhaps they do not. But either way, as you said, I can't imagine either one of them would object to the thought... especially Crito.
[Sayo, at least, had made peace with her own choice.]

It was kind of you. Even if it may not carry the same weight here, the gesture is important, I think.
no subject
It is the least I can do-- not just as a summoner or a Maester of Yevon, but as a person.
[A soft laugh.]
The irony is bitter indeed... I am the God of Salvation, yet what good was that title today? Perhaps in the end, this is the only salvation I can grant.
no subject
[He doesn't bother to draw attention to his own title - but then, is it really needed? "Death" was pretty damn fitting today, wasn't it?]
Some salvation is better than none, I'd say. For some, being able to finally rest may be a greater boon than anyone could imagine.
no subject
[Whether that's to the mention of Alex or the talk of death being a release for some, though, he won't elaborate.]
This only renews my resolve to uncover the power I was granted here. I fear I am somewhat behind some of the others on that front...

[He's thinking, like, some sort of dramatic revelation or something here...]
cw: self-harm potential?
[......he was testing his healing capabilities again... but does he say that? no.]

... I see. [...] Let us hope that I will be able to discover mine without the need for any sort of injury...
[But also. His title makes him vaguely concerned about that possibility.]
no subject
I'm hoping so as well, though if you do end up injured, I should be able to patch you up! Provided it doesn't involve losing a limb.
no subject
You have my thanks. I will endeavor to make sure that all my limbs remain attached, but I make no promises otherwise. Desperate times do call for desperate measures.
no subject
[seriously why are so many of y'all so heroic, can't relate.]
no subject
[Like, NO JUDGMENT, but. He's curious.]

[He pauses as he considers it for a moment.]
I am a member of the guild Ruby Dawn, who serves primarily to explore the unknown. So I suppose it would be inaccurate to say I wouldn't throw myself into danger, as that is quite literally a part of my job. But I am confident that I can get myself out of any fight I end up in back home and heal any injuries done to me... so does that count...?
[lost in the semantics sauce, sorry, seymour.]
no subject
I would think it does. It is much the same for me-- as a Maester, I have little occasion to be on the battlefield, but that does not mean I am incapable of fighting should the need arise.
[No one saw him barely being able to get any spells off the other day because Avrae said No--]
However, as a mage, I am not the sort who belongs on the front lines. I will leave that to our most capable swordsman.
[Does he mean Ferdie? Yes.]
no subject
Oh certainly! I am here to assist as a healer, not to lead the charge; that much holds true in Aelios as well. I'd greatly prefer to avoid any danger that I'm not positive I can get myself out of, after all!
no subject
Indeed... and as far as I'm aware, the two of us are the only healers present. If anything were to happen to either one of us, our companions would be in quite the predicament.
no subject
[looks at today and laughs.]

can't believe I went from tank main to healer main smh]
From what I have seen of them in battle, I fear I am inclined to agree with you.
no subject
We certainly did end up with quite the handful, didn't we... Lady Athena should have brought more healers than just us.
