Week 4 Meeting

[Whether from Quark or from Aoi, you are once again summoned to the bar for a meeting. Aoi will greet anybody who arrives and offer them either a Bloody Lukara (Tomato juice, salt, pepper, and a shot of the Not So Good Stuff) or Risan Punch (ginger ale and coconut water with a squeeze of lemon).]

Aoi made them with Quark! I put friendship in them.

[Aoi looks a little proud of herself for getting them assembled (with a lot of help, of course.) Don’t mind the various tomato juice stains on her sweater.]

The only thing I can think is for everyone to share what this threat involves for them, but... Well, that could serve to divide us even further for those who will not - or cannot - answer.

No to mention that "greatest shame" could mean different things to different people. No idea if he picked it out himself or not.

It's a little too vague, but someone could assume the worst anyway. There's really no telling. And even if everyone does seem in agreement that it's a weak reason to act... someone could turn up dead anyway.

Unfortunately, yes. We'll just have to deal with whatever ends up happening - either the fall-out if no one does decide to kill... or another trial.

I wonder if Typhon knows more about what would motivate us than he lets on.

Come to think of it, how does he know these things about us? I hadn't thought much about it, but it is strange... Perhaps he's pinpointing a few people in particular with this threat?

Athena knew about us too...did he steal the data from her?

I'll admit, I've been curious about that as well. Perhaps it's a part of Lady Athena's powers to know about us, as a god, but Typhon is not a god. Maybe she left notes on us or something equally mundane?

She said she was "Goddess of Wisdom," didn't she? Maybe that's just what she does.

Yes, that seems to make sense. We'll have to ask her next time we get a chance.

I would expect random threats to be more... broad. I know we don't respect him, but we have to accept the possibility that he is irritating on purpose, and knows that each week someone will bite no matter his temperament.

Perhaps he enjoys being the clear object of our ire. Regardless, you are correct; he seems confident that someone will bite, so it may prove effective, even if many of us find it lackluster.

It seems to me that these are... targeted.

... Did we ever learn who made those statues of us? Or wrote the inscriptions?

No. Athena suggested it was this place welcoming us when I asked her about it.

...Unfortunately, that is a good point.

Do we have to?

[Like. He thinks this motive is bullshit, pun fully intended. And he certainly doesn't see any reason to bump off somebody for it. And whatever shames that come off the top of his head, he can't think of any that nobody in his world aren't aware of.]

Oh no, no! We don't have to. That would only make it worse! It would be purely voluntary. Though like I said, that could only serve to cast suspicion on the ones who don't want to share, so it's not really a concrete solution to this. Just an option.

That, and anybody could just as easily lie about their 'greatest shame' and downplay how much they want it undone.

Precisely. Unfortunately, I don't think there's truly anything to be done...
