Week 4 Meeting

[Whether from Quark or from Aoi, you are once again summoned to the bar for a meeting. Aoi will greet anybody who arrives and offer them either a Bloody Lukara (Tomato juice, salt, pepper, and a shot of the Not So Good Stuff) or Risan Punch (ginger ale and coconut water with a squeeze of lemon).]

Aoi made them with Quark! I put friendship in them.

[Aoi looks a little proud of herself for getting them assembled (with a lot of help, of course.) Don’t mind the various tomato juice stains on her sweater.]

[Once Aoi’s passed out all her friendship drinks and the other usual operations have been taken care of, she raises her hand.]

Aoi thinks the meetings are good for building up our friendship points, and it’s the easy way to share key info…so! Aoi triggered an event flag!

[She’s in the real world, though, so she decides to elaborate.]

After last week’s trial, Aoi heard somebody from the Armory…it was Athena. She figured out how to get a message through. The signal is just bad where she is right now.

Athena found what she needed to fight Typhon, but she fell into a trap. We can help her if we find a key item deep in the center of this place. Aoi doesn’t know what it looks like, just that it’s in a big chest.

We should find out how to get down there so we can get back onto the good route. …without getting attacked again.

[She has not forgotten about the Cyclops slosh incident.]

EXPLORATION GROUPS

[Once Aoi’s finished explaining the situation with Athena, Quark’s going to sit up in his chair a bit]

If we’re going to go delving into this place, we should do it either as a group or in smaller groups. So someone who has experience with dividing people so that it’s, y’know, balanced with their different powers or something like that needs to take that over. Any volunteers?

I agree! A mixed battalion of those who can fight and those who are exceptionally clever or have strong perception would be ideal. And many of us can do multiple roles!

I can aid with that. I've not physically led groups out in the field in some time, as I've had to stay in Okhema to protect it for centuries now, but it's not an alien concept.

I do believe it would be best to leave either Seymour or myself at the base with the majority of us at any given time, given we are the two primary healers here.

[He's not opposed to wandering around and investigating or anything, but we should probably keep in mind where the healers are at any given time, just in case.]

When you say the center, do you mean the literal center of this place? Would figuring out what stands at the center of this building be a start?

Aoi was able to feel where the center of the universe was in the last game. This one...might be a wider radius? My phone's signal is the strongest in the arena we have trials in, but Athena talked to me in the armory...

So maybe the literal center? Like a cone.

MOTIVE

[Quark sighs, exasperated, as he leans forward, his elbows on the table. His tone is annoyed.]

Alright. Lets get the Yarnek in the room out of the way and all agree that Typhon’s just a con artist with no proof that he’s got the power to show everyone whatever it is that someone’s embarrassed about, muchless fix it. How’s that sound?

No duh. He's basically doing the same schtick as last week, with extra steps.

It's almost like he knows the con worked the first time and is just doing it again.

[Aoi doesn't sound quite as enthused as she does the rest of the meeting.]

[that's also getting a side glance from Quark, but he's not going to ask her in the middle of the meeting]

While I am in agreement that this threat is rather lackluster after last week's, we do need to keep in mind that even if the majority agree, it only takes one person to fall prey to it.

[And they likely won't make it obvious that they're considering it until... well, until it's too late for someone else.]

Yeah. [listen, he isn't going to deny the obvious] Any ideas?

reaches out and tugs a clean bar rag out from inside his jacket and looking at her questioningly.

Last week, it was something we want undone, this week it's our most terrible of secrets? Those are practically the same thing.

[After being awkwardly quiet when the motive is brought up, Aoi raises her hand again.]

I heard a sound from the library, kinda like a drone. It came from a statue of Athena. It had some kinda weird...energy or something about it? I couldn't really tell. It went away pretty quick, though.
