Week Five
Two more have left your side, gone to wherever Typhon has whisked them away to. And, no matter how little you might care about his threats, it seems that he's got no intention of stopping them anytime soon. Unfortunately, there's no sign of Athena on the horizon either, but perhaps those statues that bear a remarkable similarity to her might be the key you need to overthrowing the Titan before things get worse.
In better news, a new floor has once again revealed itself. You're free to venture further down into the island - perhaps further than you'd think was possible.
Even the less perceptive among you might notice how all around you, things seem to be... healing. Even your living area has experienced a noticeable shift. Plants are greener, a few flowers are in bloom. The sun shines bright. Despite it all, life continues alongside you. Or, perhaps, because of you.

Ferdinand was unable to go right to his chores thanks to the attack, and so his entire schedule is fucked. He finally managed a few hours the night before- which he's grateful for because how the hell would he have been able to fight otherwise- but the battle had drained what energy he had managed to drag back. The pink scar on his lip from Omega pistolwhipping him the day before is still very obvious and he keeps prodding it with his tongue.
It's only through a sense of responsibility and stubborn will that he takes care of the animals- but he refuses to show up for patrol at all. Instead he stops by the armory to clean and maintain Assal and Ochain.
Other than coming to work at the bar in the evening like usual he just hangs out in the library, trying to find something to read. He must be in a foul mood if he's actually taking a day easy for once]

Ferdinand. May I ask you a frank question?
no subject
Of course. What can I do for you?
no subject
What do you think our odds are? We lost another one of our own today, and that wasn't even due to someone deciding to act on one of Typhon's little threats.

[He fiddles with the book he was pondering taking, but takes the time to really think on it]
These beasts Typhon sends against us are comparatively weak- Laurie was our first loss there, and she did not seem to be a fighter. If it was just that it would be no issue. And I wonder if he did not hide behind his magics if we could bring Typhon down with some losses.
But we both know that fighting is not our issue. It is time. And desperation.
...if we are to make it through... there must be some shining moment of hope to once again rally behind. Though I would not be surprised if you find that a bit silly.
[He gives him an odd sad look, but leaves it at that]

[Wrong place, wrong time.
But as for that comment about hope, Astarion frowns as though offended, though the playful smile he gives a moment later makes it look more like he's playing it off as sarcastic posturing.]
You think I'm incapable of finding the notion of "hope" appealing? Come now.
[He sighs.]
I didn't care for it at first, you know. Being called a hero. No hero ever came to my rescue in the centuries I lived as Cazador's slave. How dare they put such a meaningless title on me now, I thought.
no subject
[There's not much judgement there]
... all I have ever wanted to be was a hero, in a sense. One people will look up to. But I have learned now it is... much more complicated than I thought. What do you feel about the title now?
no subject
[It's said honestly.]
...but I don't mind being called one of the people who saved the Sword Coast. It's not like that's something I'm ever called, in the fortress. But I don't mind it.
It's... a nice feeling. Knowing I saved so many from a fate worse than death.

I told Omega something a few nights ago... That there is no greater joy than protecting others. Though I wonder now if he took it too... far. But if it works, I can not really argue.
[He touches his healing lip with his thumb, frowning]

You know you could have come to me for healing for that mark on your lip.
[It's not a reprimand or chiding at all, just a reminder.]
no subject
I would not wish to bother you for something so small. My Relic healed it well enough- though healing over time always tends to scar more.
no subject
[Obviously, that's just a guess since it's not like he's gotten a close look at it, but it's an offer regardless.]

Velvet said it makes me look rugged.

[aww, cute...]

Yes, yes get your laughter out now.

What're you looking for?
[ Don't mind the bloodied bandages around her hands,,, ]

[He didn't think Velvet got hit during the fight wtf?!]
no subject
[ Ferdinand can probably figure out what happened. ]
no subject
[His worry mostly fades into a deep, sad fondness]
Can it be healed magically?
no subject
[ She's squinting at his face though, hands automatically reaching up to grab his chin out of sheer fussy habit. ]
no subject
But when she grabs him his eyes widen]
Oh... right here, my dear? It is QUITE public-
