Week one

You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

I thought I saw a spider and thought I could hit it.

Well, thanks for trying to save me from a nonexistent bug, I guess.

Look... I don't like spiders.

And spiders aren't bugs.

"Bug" isn't scientific nomenclature, it means anything sufficiently creepy and crawly.

I know, I know. Call it the biologist in me.

[If she's making jokes then she doesn't have to focus on That.]

Is that what you were studying? Your statue said you were a student.

Marine biology is my focus, yeah.

Interesting. Fun fact, crabs and lobsters? Also bugs and bug-adjacent.

[Is she joking at this point? Unclear.]

From a civilian perspective, yes.

Would that mean scientists are their own form of military organization?

Some probably consider themselves that.

Admittedly, I've mostly just known the ones that made me, so that's probably not a very representative sample.

No. I'm just pedantic.

Situationally pedantic enough to insist on proper nomenclature for animals but not about words like "civilian." I guess I can respect that.
