You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

Ah! No, no. The government of Equestria prior to ours had collapsed with the Lord of Chaos's coming. We defeated him, and thus founded the new age of the kingdom. But we are immortal, and neither of us has ever had foals.

[ Unless, like, Celestia isn't telling her something. ]

There are mortal ponies of our line, descended from other long-ago relations. But they are...not terribly impressive.

[ Immortal gets his eyes to widen a little. ]

You...can't die? Wow. [ After a moment- ] Sorry for all the... I get, uh, curious sometimes. All this...magic and stuff, it's new to me.

We might still be killed. At least, I think so.

[ But it hasn't happened yet, and certainly they have both survived things that an ordinary pony would not. Like. Hypothetically the vacuum of space? ]

But we will not age past this point, unless we were to give up our power.

[ luna is honestly sounding more and more like a god before all of this. ]

You wouldn't be an alicorn then anymore, right? You'd just be a...normal horse- pony?

I'm...not quite sure, as it happens. When I have been - diminished, in the past, my form has become more similar to an ordinary pony. But my wings and horn both remained. That is only like a great magical exhaustion, though, one recovers in time.

[ She doesn't even know stories of any ancient alicorns who stepped down, though. Luna imagines she'll see what happens when Celestia finally springs whatever she's planning, if indeed she does. And Luna...she's not sure. ]

I was born a pegasus, long ago. Perhaps I would return to that.

[ How must that be? To be one thing, then another... Alex supposes in some way, he may find out.

And, all at once, he remembers— ] Sorry. You'd asked- a-are you still, uh...up for moving some things around? The- the training dummies, they're a little close to the obstacle course.

[ he got lost in the reeds again so to speak ]

...yes, I can move those.

[ She doesn't really see what damage those might cause, but prying into the reasons seems like it may just set Alex off. She just picks up all of the dummies, letting them float in the air. ]

[ Alex takes a reflexive step back. ]

Yeah. Yeah, okay. Uhh... Farther to the...the right, I think? Yeah. Yeah, give everything its own...room to breathe.

[ She settles them down where bid. ]

I fear that there is always some measure of danger in combat training. But you are a healer - we do at least have that.

[ Luna probably wouldn't be putting emphasis on that if she'd clocked the downside to his power! She has not done so! ]

[ hahaha alex does not even know the extent of his downside yet,,, ]

...Yeah, but... Closer everything is together, the more likely something...someone'll have some kind of...freak accident. Trip into something. Knock over a dummy and...and bump another person into someone practicing. There's too much. Just- too much that can go wrong.

[ Well, that is. Technically true, yes. ]

[ Fun times talking to Alex!!! ]

[ He starts like. Murmuring to himself, inspecting a few things again. luna i'm sorry ]

[ While Luna does not especially want to be here for this, she's already involved and it feels too awkward to just fly off. She stands there for a moment, glancing around, attempting to imagine things the way Alex seems to. It isn't terribly easy. Beyond the lack of that particular paranoia, she is immortal and has magic; many accidents would be simple enough for her to stop in their tracks. ]

I think it will be alright. You cannot possibly render the entire world safe, Alex Browning.

[ Huzzah, this is the first time she's called anyone with a last name by name, now we all get to see that This Is How She Does It ]

[ He startles slightly at the sound of her voice. He...remembers where he is. That he's not alone. It's not even like he really forgot. He just got a little lost in his own head. ]

You ought to relax for a little while! You have done enough work for now.

[ She's better at giving advice than taking it, really. ]

[ An awkward half-smile. ]

I'm not...really good at relaxing. I don't like to.

....not at all?

[ That seems...well, understandable from what she knows of him, but still unhealthy. ]

Not anymore. Relaxing's how...how things go wrong.

[raisethemoon]

That may be, but you need rest. If you do not take it, it shall take you.

I know. I know, I- I sleep. I do. I just don't like to...let my guard down.

Would you like someone to take watch?

[ It's a duty of hers, after all, even if she's shifted more towards diurnality in a simple effort not to be utterly isolated from the group. ]

Of course.

That's a lot to ask someone. Especially someone you...barely know. Don't you need to sleep?
