It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

I'unno. There's been 'cures', but they're all either duds, dead-ends or are destroyed before I can use 'em. Jumpin' in the spring of drowned man's supposed to cure it, but I can't drop everything and go back there on a whim, now can I?

[And the times he did, there was other things happening that kept him from using it. Finishing wringing out her pigtail and adjusting her clothes, she picks up the marshmallow kebab from the fire, now toasted a brilliant golden brown.]

I got used to livin' with it. Ain't the worse curse I could've gotten stuck with. [It sucks, yeah, but she's never been at threat of being eaten like Ryoga or Mousse. Ranma pulls off another marshmallow, this time holding it out to Alex.]

I mean, it ain't as bad as havin' death hound me like a bitter ex.

[She's cracking a cheeky smile with her joke.]

Alex doesn't smile back. It's not really something he can joke about, really. But he doesn't pull away, either. He hesitates a few moments, looking at the marshmallow as if appraising its chances of killing him.

And then, he takes it, snatching it up fluidly. ]

What was it you said? I got used to it. It became...normal.

[ Pretty fucking miserable thing to become normal, though, that's for sure. ]
