Week one

You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

scroll storage, cw: injury discussion

[personal profile] psychonductor 2025-07-07 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Crito’s never been one for reading, but to be fair, there wasn’t a lot to read in the underworld aside from train manuals - which they wrote themself.

So they stand here, pulling out scrolls absentmindedly, not really knowing what to do with them, until Zvei starts talking to himself.]

Oh, gee. You’re gonna want to be careful with that; hit a wrong vein or artery and - fsshhhhhhh. [They make a little spraying motion with their hands.] Then there’s no coming back from that!

cw: injury discussion continued

Oh believe me, I'm well aware!

[He isn't bothered at all by the interruption or the wording, instead nodding along easily.]

I've spent the past... [...counting on his fingers??] seven-ish years as a dedicated healer, so I'm well aware of what sorts of injuries I can heal and which ones to avoid! I would never dream of doing anything to myself I wasn't certain I could heal.

[Well, they suppose that’s fine then!]

If you’re a big healer, then, how come you’re the God of Death?

For the irony, perhaps?

[lmao. no.]

I did have the rather unfortunate nickname of "the Necromancer" for awhile, but I have never been capable of resurrecting anyone from the dead.

That’s good, ‘cause otherwise you’d be putting me out of a job! It’d be really annoying to take people all the way to the underworld for you to snatch them away, you know?

My, that sounds like quite the important - and difficult - job! Have you met many fascinating mortals through your work, or are they mostly all doom and gloom about being dead?

[maybe don't be so cavalier about that question when we literally have dead people here???]

Ehh… [Crito leans against the shelves.] They don’t really talk all that much. The ways they go out are pretty interesting, though.

Oh? Do tell!

[He can imagine, but like. More fun to hear about it.]

You ever heard about vending machines?

[personal profile] necromants 2025-07-09 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm unfamiliar with them. What are they?

Biiiiiiiiig metal boxes.

[Crito draws a rectangle in the air with both hands.]

They’re full of snacks and drinks. You put money in them, and stuff comes out. And they crush people.

[GASP]

Crushed to death by a big metal box full of snacks... What a way to go!

[he looks delighted by this????]

Isn’t it just?

[They should both be less excited about this.]

You’re more likely to get killed by one than a shark!

[two of them]

And sharks are already considered quite dangerous! My, how delightful. How many of these vending machine deaths have you seen?
psychonductor: (home alone on a friday night?)

A fair few in my time. They always make such a mess. Why did humans even invent a death trap like that?
