You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

Yes, I agree! All of us working together as trusted allies- we can complete Lady Athena's duty in no time at all!

[Quark blows out a breath at that, some of that approval cooling slightly to be replaced with some ruefulness] Trust doesn't happen overnight. In some people, it can take some time. But you don't necessarily need it to work together. At least, not to start. What's more important is figuring out out what people want and tailor what you want to get done to that. Trust can come after that, over time, the more people get to know each other.

[That sombres him a bit, and he looks down at his own information. His thumb rubs over his occupation, as if to polish it]

Ah... yes, you are correct of course. But when it comes to trust someone must be the first to reach out a hand, even if they do not know if anyone will reach back. Or worse, if said hand will end up bit.

[Edelgard and Hubert cross his mind. How everything was kept so close to their chests. How many lies and lies by omittinon they were all told that he only has an inkling of. He decided to trust. To be loyal. But did he make the right choice, in the end?

Would he have been under that horse either way?]

[Quark watches Ferdinand for a moment...before he huffs out an exasperated sigh]

And I suppose you're the one to do that, aren't you.

[he says it like he already knows the answer, dry]

Reach out a hand even though you might get bit.

[His smile is a bit crooked, like he finds it a bit funny. Though not in a ha ha way.]

If need be. It is part of my noblesse oblige. A change in my station does not change that.

[Quark stares at Ferdinand for a moment longer, before he shakes his head, muttering something that sounds suspiciously like "rootbeer." Then:]

Alright. Fine. I suppose you've left me with no choice.

[he sounds exasperated and annoyed but resigned as he sighs gustily, hands going to his hips]

If you're going to be the overly-optimistic idealist here then I guess I'll have to be the pragmatic realist to keep you from getting in over your head.

[He blinks, then laughs brightly]

Well! I have been told such a position is quite thankless when it comes to me.

I never would have guessed. [sarcastic, rolling his eyes] I know your type. [he waves a hand, brushing] And since us working together is inevitable, considering our domains, I may as well start getting used to it now.

[he then claps his hands once, rubbing them together, straightening and clearly shifting into a different mode]

So! Speaking of our domains, the sooner we start getting everyone on at least a similar page, if not the same one, the better. Agreed?

[he seems quite pleased with himself, like he won something. But the change in topic gets his more serious attention. Quark seems to have an Idea]

I think we need some kinda gathering. Something to break the ice, and let everyone get to know each other a little better before we get down to business, you know? So I figure we should have some kinda get together. Let everyone introduce themselves to the group, say a bit about themselves, a fun fact or something, and we can talk about this place and the goal. I don't think it'll be too hard to get people to come, but if we can offer something to eat and drink at the same time, that usually makes everyone feel a bit more friendly.

... oh! What a genius idea! Especially since it seems not everyone here is much of a cook.

[he thinks to poor Aoi and her breakfast of gummies.

I could be if they had a replicator. [that's a grumble]

How are you with what they've got here?

Ah, well... I will admit their cooking equipment is a bit foreign to me. It is similar enough I was able to make a simple meal. But I do not really understand it well. Their oven does not even seem to have a fire!

Even so, I can cook for the gathering if no one else is able, if you do not mind rather simple fare. I only had to learn to cook somewhat recently.
