You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

[ now this... this is some shit. she hums, considering. her voice is a touch lower now, smoother, more contemplative and playful. ]

Impressive! I've often heard that people who don't accept magic are... toxic to it. They weaken it and those who use it. In a place like this, I'm sure the toxin would be weakened, but... well, even this might be beyond me, in front of most of them.

[ she doubts all of their fellows from ordinary worlds have accepted the idea. as she talks, she steps behind a stack of tomes, placing her out of zvei's view. time to try something... with that, a swarm of golden, glowing butterflies appears to flutter in both directions from behind the stack. an illusion? misdirection? real magic?

regardless, her voice pipes up again from a couple of meters behind zvei after a moment, whether he sees it as an act of magic or a glorified parlor trick. ]

[He watches, that same easy smile on his face even as she vanishes behind the stack of tomes. He applauds at the show, though it's a bit hard to tell exactly what he's thinking about it from the same expression alone.]

How curious, I've never seen anything quite like that!

[He turns to her before continuing.]

Though your previous statement... I've certainly never heard anything of the sort. Though that would be rather difficult where I'm from, where magic is an integral and normalized part of life.
