It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

[Her exposure to humans (and human-adjacent) has been like. This. But she does know what it's like to be without mirrors, for one reason or another.]

Have you not...seen much of yourself?

I haven't seen my face in two hundred years. Not since I became a vampire.

...you do not reflect?

[Vampires are a story in Equestria, vampiric animals aside.]

No. I don't.

It's frustrating. Aggravating. Until now, I've only had the descriptions of others to go by.

....what about in dreams? Might a mirror work there?

[pariunt]

[Hmm.]

I don't think so. I don't remember my face. I don't even remember the color my eyes used to be.

[raisethemoon]

But I can see you! I'm sure I could fashion a functioning mirror with just that!

[She's having a totally different conversation in her head that she simply hasn't explained to him apparently]

[He's not following.]

It isn't just mirrors. I can't see myself reflected in water, either.

I could enter thy dreams, and create a dream mirror!

[pariunt]

A dream mirror?

[raisethemoon]

Well, only a mirror within a dream. But dreams need not behave as the real world, of course! Hast thou any experience with lucid dreaming?

[pariunt]

I can't say I have, no.

If I don't remember my face, will I really be able to see it in a dream?

[He's kinda worried it'll just end up looking like the statue, if anything.]

[ Luna tilts her head, smiling a little. ]

I shall be there. I can see thee well enough.

....In my dreams?

[Hmm. On the one hand, he is vain enough to want to see his face in his dreams. On the other, someone walking around in his dreams is rather disquieting.]

How would that work, exactly?

[raisethemoon]

Dreamwalking is one of my abilities as the Princess of the Night. I could enter your dream, and make it into one where you can use mirrors! It does not have any particular effect on you, though I will see whatever the dream is when I arrive.

[Oftentimes, though, dreams aren't especially deep or personal. Very many just involve commonplace occurrences.]

[pariunt]

...I see.

[Hmm. Well, either he has indistinct dreams, or outright nightmares.]

Well, I suppose we could get lucky and I won't dream of anything too terrible, but it will be a bit of a roll of the dice.

[This is punctuated with a little laugh.]

...we need not do it if you do not wish.

[ She is, just now, realizing that she may have come on a little strong about all of that. ]

But I assure you, I have been watching nightmares for thousands of years.

Oh, I don't mind sharing, if it's all the same to you.

There just could be... things in there I don't like to share.

[It's not like he'd necessarily have a PTSD dream, but hells if he knows.]

[ Like, only one of us has crafted an entity of pure nightmare in order to torment our own dreams, and it's definitely not you! ]
