Week one

You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

There's no need to think too hard about it anyway. Statues depend on how the person sculpting it interprets the subject.

[Actually, that brings up something that has been bothering him.]</small I wonder who sculpted these? There's one for each of us.

All we know is that Athena didn't do it. Someone else did -- and my guess is that this other person is also who gave us the titles each statue shows.

[Athena may be more like middle management, really, instead of the one in charge]

The pantheon I am familiar with has a hierarchy of sorts. Gods who are more powerful than others. It's based on worshipers; the more worshipers, the more powerful the god.

Does that mean our own powers could get stronger if we worship each other?

[Although there's no way anyone here can get too high in the hierarchy, being newbie gods!]

Now that is a question. I'm not certain how easy that would be to test out, however. It's not as simple as declaring "I worship you!"

Gods in older times were worshipped through making...depictions of them.

[One day we just do arts and crafts of each other and see if that gives results, hah]

You know, that is worth the attempt to see what happens.

[The worst that happens is nothing. Astarion is willing to try this!]

How good are you at making art?

[Will it be recognizable as someone here, at the very least?]

You could choose whoever seems like they'd be the easiest one to depict. There are plenty of options.

[Jumping straight into the deep end is risky! The safe bets are good]

Mikhail should be easy to depict.

[He is a cat. And Astarion likes cats, so it isn't a complete lie.]

Make sure to show his fluffiness. That's a very important trait.

[Misane, your bias for fluffy things is showing]

I think I'll try...Ferdinand. I did say to him I'd make a sculpture. I have never made one before, but I'm sure effort counts.

[Does it]

Who do you take me for?

[He clutches at his chest, feigning offense.]

Of course I'll capture his fluffiness.

[But as for sculptures...]

I wonder if such materials exist here? I'll admit, I know nothing about the process.

We'd need something soft and malleable. Clay comes to mind. Carving wood is the second option.

[Because no way they're prepared to use any kind of stone, really]

There's plenty of wood, and clay is a little harder to find. If needed, we could ask Athena without giving too many details.

[In case this is...inconvenient in any way]

I wouldn't know how to procure clay. Wood would be simple enough, if we had enough tools to cut down some of the trees in the forest.

[Is there more to it than that? Hell if he knows.]

I haven't ever gathered these things, but giving up without trying isn't my style. I'd at least attempt to find them...even if it's by cutting down a tree.

[The odds she'd succeed at playing lumberjack are very low, haha]

[Unfortunately, Astarion is a noodle. He is not going to be any help either.]

Well, perhaps someone will have been granted super strength as their god power. That would be convenient, wouldn't it?

Do you think we'll be that lucky...?

[After all these days, she kind of doesn't hold hopes anymore of someone having super strength. That lift keeps bothering her, and someone with a lot of strength would have been useful for getting it moving, but alas, so far Misane failed to find someone to help with that]

I don't know. There are a lot of us here. Surely someone must have gotten strength enough to cut down trees with ease.

The only way we could have someone like that is if someone was big and made of metal.

[And nobody is like that.

Yet.

This is happening a couple days before Omega's arrival, after all]

[Astarion laughs loudly.]

Fortunately for us, we don't have any Gondians around to create anything like that!

[He says, not knowing what's to come.]

Is that really a fortunate thing?

If they were here, I'm sure they'd decide to make a Steel Watcher. Granted, the one they created when we fought the Absolute was quite useful.

But it wouldn't be useful here, because it's huge and uses a sword that could knock down entire pillars.

...you're right. We're lucky there won't be anything like that here. I'd like our only place to stay at to be intact.

[She didn't understand half of what she heard, but the possible consequences of a huge thing with a sword that could destroy this place up are clear as day]
