Week Six
You've survived, for lack of better wording, the latest week of trials and tribulations. This one had been more costly than most: Typhon's machinations have brought your group to nearly half the size it was when Athena first brought you to this island. Whether it ends with him or with you is still too soon to make out. One thing's for certain. Things cannot be allowed to continue as they are.
Speaking of continuing, the next floor has been revealed to you. Just how far down this island goes is a bit of a mystery, but you get the feeling that you're close to something important. Maybe that thing Athena wanted you to find before Typhon does. You can ruminate on that as you watch the waters below. Waves still lap at the cliffs, but it all seems lower than it did weeks ago. Like the ocean itself is shrinking...

Quark's Bar

Cornucopia we're going to pretend I did not open this in a tab and then forget to tag...
... as would seem to be the case right now, though at least this particular item is innocuous enough that he doesn't feel any need to try to lay claim to it.
Indicating the elixir, he says:]
You would do well to keep that on hand.

What, this?
[She picks up the bottle of- blue? google is showing me blue- liquid, examining it.]
I'd kind of assumed it was some kind of booze.
[Which- heck, maybe it is, for all she knows Seymour's world doesn't have the concept of a legal drinking age.]
no subject
That is an elixir-- a tonic meant to restore one's health and energy. As a healer, I have no need for such a thing, but it could prove quite useful to someone who is not.
[... okay, so he could use it to restore his MP, but is he really going to run out when he's got 999 MP...]
I suppose one could combine it with alcohol if they wished, though I am not sure if that would make it more or less effective.
[Or if it would be like the ultimate Red Bull + vodka combo.]
no subject
Oh, huh. Dang.
[She regards it a little closer. Seems like a small package for a general cure-all, but if she's accepting magic as a thing it probably makes sense. Not like Seymour has ever particularly been a liar.]
How much health and energy are we talking, I'm assuming if I, say, lose a leg I'm still S-O-L, but I don't know magic.
no subject
It cannot replace limbs, no, but it should be able to heal anything short of a fatal injury.
[And then his expression sobers just slightly.]
I would not choose to test that on a Thursday night, however.
[No accusations, just a statement of fact. He wouldn't be testing it out then either.]
no subject
Wasn't planning on it.
[Mostly.]
I'm not playing that fucker's game.
no subject
[It's bitter to talk about, but not because he feels torn up about their deaths.]
no subject
[She looks down for a second, mind turning over some unpleasant considerations.]
Assuming caution even matters, with this shit.
no subject
[Which kind of sucks, honestly!!!]
no subject
[Not that they haven't mostly handled the monsters he's sent so far, but for all the demonstrations of Typhon's power- and much as she hates to admit it he has proven himself powerful within certain limits- if their deaths are the point why keep drawing it out? If the cruelty is the point there still have to be more effective ways of getting it.]
no subject
There are surely other ways to test our limits without resorting to having us kill each other.
[Typhon has power, that much is clear. So there must be some sort of reason that he isn't using it against them.]
