Wednesday Group Lunch

[Sometime mid-morning on Wednesday, the Eatery and Kitchen will suddenly be bustling with activity. First, the sounds of cookery start to trickle out into the hall, quickly followed by some delicious smells. If one peeks in, they might see Lebkuchen kneading dough while Cerejiera gives her some instructions on modern oven use. There are others chopping vegetables, and some point Ranma’s cooking something on the stove. Soon enough, food starts to come out and fill the table. Fresh bread and soup, various other dishes, as well as apfelstreudel and lebkuchen for dessert. To drink, there’s coffee (Vanity) and tea (Sayo) and some kind of fruity, delicious punch that combines peaches, grenadine and something almond-y, reminiscent of something familiar to at least one of you. At the same time, the table starts to be set up, plates and cups levatating through the air with alicorn magic while Aoi has been trusted with…the napkins. Once the table is mostly set, runners are sent out to invite (or strongly encourage, if needed) those missing to a lunch in the Eatery. Which is now for sure 100% safe from Rube Goldberg-esque accidents, courtesy of Alex.

Oh, I see. I would not either, for obvious reasons, but... well. We do have certain kinds of insects we tend to keep for companionship or labor that are somewhat taboo to eat, but other cultures do have different standards and I am not entirely sure what yours are.

What sorts of animals are frequently eaten, then?

Pigs and cows are the main ones. Chicken and game birds are another, along with rabbit and deer. There are others too, I'm certain. It depends on location.

[Cazador had forced him to feed on rats, but that had been torture. It certainly doesn't count.]

Of course, as a vampire, things are... different, now. My love and I have created a home in the Underdark for ourselves as well as the vampire spawn we saved. There are times when hunters come after us. Or the creatures of the Underdark do. We were attacked by a bulette; a land shark. That kept the colony fed well.

Even Tav was able take advantage of it; she's not a vampire.

...yes, I know people of all those species. Has anyone asked them about their opinion on the whole thing? Then again, perhaps there is a world where the creatures that are eaten in my world would ask the same of us...

But I suppose everyone has their own taboos based on what is ultimately necessary for them. I suppose it is good that you found something that worked for you.
