Week Two
Okay, maybe it hasn't been so easy. You've been enjoying a relatively pleasant time here with your fellow gods and Athena, only for a disgruntled Titan to seemingly pull the rug out from under that.
Despite the immediate threat from a hidden foe, you've managed to stave off their first attack. However, even if the grass may seem greener this week, or the sky a bit clearer, Athena can barely hide her troubled feelings. If this experiment is to be a success, what has to happen to make it that way?
You're all alive, though. That's worth celebrating, isn't it?

Quark's Bar

...yeah. Look, why don't you pick up the front and I'll get the back and we'll get it back to your room, alright?

[ He's...kind of muttering to himself, handling the springy, movable front with great care. ]

But he's focused. Just as focused as when he's looking out for signs of death. ]

Alex doesn't make small-talk, because of course he doesn't. But, at one point, he does murmur: ] I got you... I got you... I'll get you...well, I'll get you somewhere...
no subject
He does feel pretty relieved once he spots Alex's door (he's already figured out and memorized who lives where, of course. That didn't take too long.)]
no subject
They reach the door and Alex lets out a wheezing, shuddering sigh of relief. As if he was waiting for something terrible to happen. ]
O-okay, let's put it down, and- and I'll get my key.
[ this is for real the most frazzled he's been since getting here. It is a wonder his hands haven't just given out. ]
no subject
Anyway, Quark is going to gently lower the base down to the floor]
Alright. Just tip it upright and get your key out.

His rolled up parchment tumbles out while he fishes the key. Because of course it does. And there's the sketch of a serious-looking girl staring up at Quark. ]

There. There, there, there, okay.
[ Door open. He turns back to Quark and the statue. ]
Okay, here, uhh- I think just- just in that corner, not- not the one with all the other stuff, the empty one—
[ What he's talking about is this. Alex has a collection of the various knickknacks and objects he's gotten that he hasn't deemed immediately dangerous like the banana peel all squirreled away in a corner of his cabin. It's away from his bed, and clothing and the like are messily but securely folded and placed on shelves.
Nothing near the bed. He's even moved the end table so that it is also in a corner.
It's an unsurprisingly sparse room. ]

Right. We'll just get that inside--[and here's where they can shimmy that thing inside into the corner Alex wants it in. Once it's there, Quark will fish that parchment out of his jacket, and hold it out] You dropped this.
no subject
[ ...Even he feels a little pathetic, clinging to the sketched threat like this. But, well... ]

But you know, for once, Alex does as suggested without complaint. He sinks to his bed, breathing deeply and pressing the parchment to his heart.
After a few long inhales and a few long moments: ]
I hate this.
no subject
It's not exactly a casual stroll down the prominade.
no subject
Now... It's a whole different ball game.

That shit ain't rules, it's that fuck mocking us. No, this place... This place's gotta have its own. Something we can...trap him in, something, something.
[ He's desperate. ]

That's how it- if you figure out how it works, how the laws work, you can- you can cheat it. If you can start to see it, you can cheat it, I just- I can't... I haven't seen here. Not like back home.

Trial and error. A lot of people had to die before I could even start fightin' back. Before I was lookin' hard enough to find the signs.
no subject
So we gotta do the same here, is what you're sayin'.
