Week Three Meeting

[Welcome back to the Eatery. Perhaps the mood is more somber than it was during the last meeting in here, but once again there is food and (non-alcoholic) punch to go around. Quark, Wendy and Vanity occupy the head of the table, but there’s plenty of other seats for both those that helped set up and those that didn’t. Looks like it’s time to put your heads together again and hopefully sort some things out.

Once everyone’s seated and in attendance, Quark pushes to his feet.]

Alright, we’re all pretty tired after yesterday so I’m not going to draw this out. Let’s just get started. [and he motions at Vanity, before sitting back down]

Why would I be in a position to get my throat ripped out?! Who here is gonna pull something like that? [THINKING ABOUT THIS IS KIND OF FREAKING HIM OUT TBH]

If he's the one trying to rip my throat out, no amount of training is going to help!

His monsters. We can't guarantee they'll always pop up in places that'll give us time.

[Quark sucks in a breath at that, his shoulders hiked up near his ears, arms folded defensively.]

...I'm not a fighter. I'm a bartender.

[it's incredibly flimsy, especially since Vanity is right and he knows she's right but he really doesn't want to explain that thinking getting used to the idea of a knife or a fist in his face is making him feel a bit ill]

If Quark needs protection we will protect him. Forcing him to learn to fight is admitting we are incapable.

I'm PERFECTLY FUCKING CAPABLE, thanks, but I can't fucking move at the speed of light. All I'm saying is, people should still learn enough to stay alive until we're there to BE capable.

And YOU are not the only one capable of doing so! There are enough of us who can fight to manage it- We should make plans for the others to find safety but it is clear some of them are not up to such training!

[Clearing his throat just slightly--]

Please do remember that Zvei and myself are the only ones here with healing abilities. We will do our best, but our powers can only be stretched so thin. If some among our number are completely defenseless, things could get... dangerous.

[he grumbles even more, but relaxes back into his chair because he isn't nearly as aggravated at anyone else as he is Vanity, like, in general]

Right, exactly. I'm not asking that everyone become some kind of badass soldier or martial artist, just that we're not sitting ducks if a skeleton manages to corner someone alone.

Unless we wish to insist that those with no experience in battle stay close to those who do have it, there is always that risk.

And if Typhon's not an idiot sooner or later he's going to try forcing the issue.
