Two more of your fellow gods, your companions, your friends, have met their end together. As you turn in for the night, and a new week dawns upon you, it's starting to be a bitter experience. Just how much of this will you be forced to take?

But all isn't just despair. The morning is brighter than the last. The storm clouds that previously plagued almost every day have dissipated, and this week brings plenty of sun and a friendlier breeze. Not to mention, another floor of this strange temple has revealed itself. Whatever lies within is your domain, not Typhon's. Keep it tight in your grasp, because you never know when you'll lose it.

[They don't go far- the paddock, while big enough for the horses to run around, is only so big. Ferdinand can be heard getting onto his mount but not trying to correct her too hard. This horse is spoiled. At least outside battle. Eventually he groans loudly and dismounts, letting her drink. As he walks away Liora paws and stomps a bit but doesn't follow.]

Forgive her. it has been a trying last few months.

She stomped on Hubert's foot so hard once she broke two of his toes! Oh he did not forgive me for an entire week.

And here I was thinking you'd never delight in a friend's suffering.

Oh, he deserved it. And he had them healed within the hour, so I do not feel overly bad about it.

...At least she probably can't break my foot.

[ It's only "probably" because while jade alloy is sturdy enough to withstand all sorts of nonsense, she's never tested it against a horse and feels like somehow Liora would be able to do it. ]

Your's are probably much more sturdy, yes. Best not to test her though. Those horseshoes are VERY high quality iron.

Fair enough. Our little home here can feel stifling after awhile.

[he leans on the paddock fencing, looking up at the barrier]

The open platform here makes it feel a bit less oppressive, even if we are underground.

[ Velvet follows his gaze to look at the barrier too. ]

...Not going to lie, it's weird how it feels so small while knowing the world is bigger than all this.

Right. How much damage must that greater world have gone through? Are there other people? Monsters? I wish to find out.

But that means surviving these trials first.

...I can't say for sure, but probably there are some other people out there.

[ Or else they wouldn't be any point in trying to save a dead world. ]

[He rubs the side of his head and through his sweaty hair]

I feel... if we could see more of what was at stake, maybe these threats and baits would not turn us so easily. Did Athena assume just the promise of power would be enough?

[The kind of people that would work on are not the people that would stick it out under such oppression as Typhon, that is for sure]

I don't know. Trials and temptations are the tools used to break even great people.

[ She would know, considering her experience. Sometimes, people think they know where their line in the sand is until it's actually put to the test—only to be found wanting. ]

But I wouldn't expect a god to have thought it all through, either.

I suppose she did not know Typhon was coming. If we had just continued as it was the first week... who knows?

Less dead people, at least.

[ Probably. Most of them don't seem the type to resort to murder unless pushed, but she could be wrong about that too. ]

[He stares out over the sea from the open platform... then huffs]
