Week one
You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.
It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

Scroll storage because it's just a party in here I guess!
Your healing is weaker.
[It's a statement rather than a question.]
nerds! nerds! nerds!
[Hello, Seymour! Zvei doesn't seem particularly bothered or surprised about being joined, and he twirls the knife in one hand idly as he continues. He's surprisingly adept at it, so he's not accidentally (or intentionally) slicing himself here.]
I noticed that something about my mana felt off and needed a willing test subject to see if I was correct. Even so, I cannot determine the exact extent of the drain on my usual healing capabilities... and it seems ill-advised to test it as thoroughly as I would prefer.
[Sigh!! No fun for Zvei...]
surely this will go SO well
If you wish to test it further, I can offer my own healing abilities as well, though I fear mine too will likely be less potent than they would otherwise. Such was the case with the other magic I have attempted so far.
i am SO sad i'm canonblind, i'm a fake ff fan
[Hmm, actually... Zvei moves to stand, absently brushing off his labcoat and slipping the knife into a pocket of said coat as he moves.]
I haven't noticed any physical changes either, but...
[The coat ripples against his back for a moment as though something beneath it is moving. A moment later, a thick, purple tendril slinks out down the back of his coat, coiling around on the floor before retrieving one of the scrolls and bringing it up to Zvei's face. With a shake of said tentacle, the scroll unfolds easily.]
Aha, very good. No physical problems, then!
[.........not gonna explain the tentacle at all, huh.]
... oh. oh boy.
"Ordinary," thinks the man with hair that basically looks like tentacles due to the part plant person-ness--]
That is not a spell?
[Unfortunate, because he wouldn't mind trying to learn it if it were.]
c:
It is not! This is a part of my body - all deimori have one unique physical trait, and this is mine!
[A second tentacle soon joins the first, rolling the scroll back up and neatly depositing it in the pile before both slip back up into his back, the labcoat settling back against his shoulders and back as though that didn't just happen. Aside from the off color (purple as opposed to his light, sickly skin color) they do appear to be physical appendages, though notably they do not have suction cups anywhere so they're not quite comparable to octopus or squid tentacles.]
no subject
[They're kind of like a shoopuf's trunk... that would certainly be useful on multiple fronts.]
Some of the races of Spira have their own distinct physical traits, but those traits exist across all members of that race. I have never before heard of a race where each member was truly unique. I imagine that must make things... complicated.
