Week one

You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

[ an island utterly cut off from the wider world by a barrier of gold.

it disquiets her even now. still, when ai speaks up, sayo glances over. it's a good question. with a hum:

... We'd best assume not, until we have more to go on. It isn't as though it makes a difference to us in here, does it?

Mm. I guess not. [ She smiles, but there's not really any mirth to it. ] It's just a little weird looking out on the horizon and just seeing a whole lot of nothing. I think I've lived in Tokyo too long. I kinda forgot this is what things are supposed to look like before we drop a whole load of buildings on top.

[ A salt-scented breeze rolls in from the water, whipping her hair back from her face. It's a shame, she finds herself thinking - Aqua and Ruby would love to see a view like this. ]

It's pretty, at least. It'd be nicer if we had a proper beach to hang out on.

Mm, I can understand that. I'm afraid I haven't spent much time on the mainland... for the most part, I split my time between Niijima and my employers' island? I've seen Tokyo in movies and magazines and such, though.

[ the salt air is reassuring, honestly. ]

Oh, a real beach would be wonderful, wouldn't it? I didn't often use it, but the island where I work has a wonderful stretch of beach... I think I might miss it.
