It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

Oh!

[Luna, as she often is, seems surprised to be approached at all. Running isn't a regular habit of hers, not since well before she had royal duties, but...]

Ah - yes, I...suppose we could do that. I can keep pace with thee!

[ Forcing a smile....... on top of the everything else going on here, it feels so deeply abnormal to be having a regular talk with a... unicorn? horse? but. whatever. she can roll with it. ]

Honestly, you might just outrun me. You've got a way bigger stride than I do! [ luna is like. almost two feet taller than her. ] But a little race wouldn't hurt anyone.

[ She fluffs out her ponytail a bit. ]

Should we go on three?

A race!

[She'd intended to just sort of lightly jog along, as she has with Ferdinand - more for the socialization than the running. But a challenge is different!]

[ Oh, the way she perked up all of a sudden is kind of cute. She'd been a little put off by the Talking Horse of it all, but Luna... seems reasonably enough like any other of the girls here on the island.

(and yes, this is damning by faint praise) ]

Heehee. Okay, I'll count us in then. One, two...

[ She settles back into a starting stance. ]

Three!

[ And off she goes! ]

[Luna lets out a peal of laughter as they take off. She doesn't pace herself as much as she originally intended; it was not a race then! Naturally, she's faster than a human - there she goes...]

Whoa...!

[ ... Okay, yeah, she completely should've seen that coming but Ai's still impressed. She manages to keep her composure up until she's a solid four or five lengths behind and then she finally breaks into a laugh, slowing to a jog as she pants for breath. ]

Okay, okay, I surrender! There's no way I'm catching up...

[raisethemoon]

[ Luna slows to a trot as well, circling back around. ]

I suppose 'twas not very fair! But we are happy to jog as well!

I was the one who went and turned it into a race. I can't complain if you beat me fair and square.

[ She's still smiling as she picks up her pace just enough to meet Luna halfway. ]

You really are fast, though! Are you speedy when you fly, too?

Fair enough! There are certainly trained pegasi who are faster - though, likely none so quiet.

[ She flaps her wings once. Silent like an owl's! ]
