You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.

It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

[it's been an exciting week, that is for sure. Ferdinand has started to fall into a pattern at least. His morning routine remains as it was on Monday and every day after, and can be the most consistent way to find him if you're willing to be up at 'dawn'. Afterwards he goes to cool off by the gardens, stopping to pluck any obvious weeds but largely just lounging nearby, enjoying the smells of fresh growth]

Ah... it is oddly nostalgic.

[In the afternoon you can find him in the scroll storage- not reading, but in fact rolling up his notes from the meeting the day before and storing them where they can easily be found for reference. If you peek his hand writing is immaculate!

And finally he spends a good chunk of the day at the training grounds, investigating the area as requested. Looking for signs of use or hints of those that might have came before. It is here he picks up one of the poles and gives it a good spin.]

Would you feel up to a spar?

[That could be aimed at anyone, but if no one is around he looks heavansward with a cocksure grin.]

[right now, Cerejeira practically lives in this room. she's been doing her best to organize the collection; a tricky task when most of it is wrecked, but no one can say she's not trying. she's a little surprised to walk back in and seeing someone... adding to the collection?]

Oh-- That's a really good idea. I took my own notes, too, but having these available for everyone should be really helpful.

That was my thought! We went over so much it would be understandable to miss a few things.

...It's important to keep records. I'll put mine in later, too. Having a backup set in here can't hurt, just in case.

[The grounds themselves here are perhaps the cleanest area you have.]

Well, as a goddess I must assume you can easily defeat me. But as long as you do not intend to take my life... how could I turn away a once in a life time chance? I can only learn from such a battle.

Well, they do say that pain is often a good learning experience.

Don't worry, I'll go easy on you. No "smiting" around here. [She raises her spear and taps the ground with it.] I'll let you make the first move.

[ And with no hesitation or further gentlemanly posturing he darts in. His 'lance' doesn't just stab out, but jabs out in multiple rapid strikes as he uses a combat art on her.

She is a goddess after all, if he wants to not embarrass himself he must treat this like life or death]

[As a master war strategist, Athena expects a good first impression from an honest-to-goodness soldier. And she isn't disappointed. In fact, Ferdinand does the job of putting her (temporarily) on the backstep.

She's raised her spear to block the attacks. Can't let this be easy, now.]

[The block is not surprising, but he would admit to himself he hoped his flurry would get at least one through.

He can feel the tickle in the back of his mind that he associates with the power that flared when Omega attacked him, but his attempt to reach it flounders. Damn it. So instead he turns the jabs into a wide powerful swing. It's a bit sloppy but his decent heft gives it some power, a bit of frustration in his attack.]

[Well. Astarion is taking advantage of once again being able to see things like flowers again, so he's also here. He does stop his stroll at the remarks.]

You didn't strike me as the type to enjoy digging around in the dirt.

[Can't relate at all.]

Is that so? I suppose it looks strange for a nobleman. But I was quite the outdoorsman as a child. Rolling in the mud with the hounds, climbing trees in the orchard and ruining my good trousers

I can't say I relate.

[But then again, he wasn't a nobleman. He just doesn't want dirt all over him.]

Well, I suppose it keeps the garden nice.

[ He tosses the weeds aside for the animals and plops down in the grass]

I think I may have seen Athena tending it before as well.

I'm sure. It seems like Athena has been taking care of everything around here by herself.

[This is actually kind of sad, tbh. He feels bad for her.]

Garden

[ The only reason Velvet is up this early is because she wants to look inside the little hut in the garden corner. It's not surprising that he's awake, since Velvet pegged him as an early bird. ]

Didn't take you for the gardening type.

[ Or rather, the type to bother with weeding, at least. ]

Ha... I would not call it a hobby of mine. But in my school days they would have use do such chores weekly. I suspect to teach us young nobles some humility. But I find such work settling.

[ Huh. Makes sense that this guy got to go to something like an academy, though a part of her also agrees that it's a good idea to teach nobles some humility. She wouldn't know for sure if any of the big ones she's heard about back home ever did anything of the sort. ]

I'm not much of one myself, but your school had the right idea.

The Officer's Academy was a good experince, for the most part. I did things and meet people I likely never would have otherwise.

Hm...I would be interested in seeing how humans fight! Shall I use a pole as well?

[ She's not exactly sure how this spar might work. ]

[He pauses, utterly baffled how she would use a pole even with her magic]

Fight how you feel most comfortable.

[ She does leave the poles aside, then, just hopping the fence to join him in the practice arena. ]

It would usually involve magic, but I can also leave that aside. Earth ponies and pegasi have their own forms of fighting - pegasi, especially.
