Week one
You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.
It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

[he arches a eyebrow at Lebkuchen] Do you cook with firewood usually or what?
no subject
[She looks at the ingredients on the counter now.]
Veggies and noodles...Aoi can try to make stir fry again. Second time's the charm?
no subject
[ And then to Quark ]
Yes, we always cook with firewood. We have to use it to warm our homes in the winter as well.
[ And then casting her eyes at the burner. ]
Like you two are doing right now, I assume?
no subject
What, have you guys got a death wish or something? That sounds way too dangerous.
no subject
[Is it, Aoi? She looks at the burner and shakes her head.]
That's the stove part. You fry veggies and boil water with it.
[Aoi starts hunting for a frying pan and some oil to show what she's talking about.]
Where are the pots and the knives? Aoi has to slice the zucchini!
[The goal of the game is to help people, so she should help Quark and Lebkuchen by showing them how to cook on a stove and an oven! She's gonna get so much charge from this.]
no subject
[ She will just. Let Aoi look for knives. That should be okay right. Aoi's a little odd but she should be fine with a knife, yeah? She seems to know what she's doing anyway. ]
no subject
There's a couple knives here-- [he gestures at some on the counter] --but I dunno what a pot is. [he says, like there aren't some strewn about from his own explorations]
no subject
[Aoi picks up a pot from the floor and holds it over her head. She then sets it in the sink and turns on the water to fill it up. While it does that, she focuses on securing a knife.]
Be careful with knives! Aoi's friend said to watch your fingers.
[She holds the zuccini firm against the table in one hand, then sets up the knife and veeeeery shakily cuts some of the zuccini into a lopsided piece.]
no subject
Hm. ]
...Have you actually used a knife before?
no subject
no subject
[That said, her zuccini chopping is going veeery slowly and very uneven. She's not winning any awards for it.
...also she's completely forgotten about the pot she left in the sink to fill with water so that's still going.]
no subject
Going to just. Take care of that water real quick. ]
Shall I show you a better way to cut them?
no subject
no subject
What do you do? [Aoi offers the knife to Leb, a bit of excitement bleeding into her tiny voice.]
no subject
I'm-- I grew up in my granny's bakery. She started teaching me as soon as I could walk.
[ She's going to start slicing the zucchini with an expert amount of precision and care - the kind you get from many years of slicing apples, nuts, and other such things daily. ]
I even helped run the place when her age started to make that difficult.
no subject
So you've got sales experiece?
no subject
You're a professional! And you bake? ...wow...
[She might be a little enamored.
Forgetting about the cooking operation for a moment, Aoi turns her head over to Quark.]
Is there anybody here to even sell stuff too?
[The towel sits on the burner, ominously smoldering...]
no subject
I do, though granny is the one usually handling that. When your legs don't carry you as well as they used to minding a shop counter is much easier than taking heavy trays of baked goods in and out of the oven.
[ With Kieferberg's size they only really need to make their morning batches before she heads to church so it worked out well enough.
...Also yeah her ass also ain't noticing the rag, she's too focused on using the knife ]
no subject
[he smirks a little, widening towards a grin]
If you wanna make some of that bread, Leb, I'm sure practically everyone'd line up to buy a slice.
no subject
Will establishing a market fix the world?
[...wait does anybody else smell smoke--]

[ She finishes the zucchini, pushing aside the neat and uniform slices... and then pauses ]

[he's immeasurably cheerful at the thought of a possible new profit venture (once there's a currency to make a profit on). Though at that comment from Leb he pauses]
Smell what now? [he asks, just as he's turning to shove aside the eggplant--when his eye catches on the black smoke now rising from the rag atop the burner...just as that smoke turns into flame.
Quark's eyes widen and he's stumbling back away from it, shrieking in terror. Literally. There may not be a fire alarm here, but with Quark, they hardly need one.]
no subject
-! Aoi did it again?
no subject
Leb briefly shrieks as well, more so because Quark is already doing so, but thankfully she's seen fire before so she should know what to do--
...keyword on should. But there's so much here that's foreign to her that her brain has frozen, completely forgetting about the water in the pot. ]
