Week one
You've all met Athena, and she's made her point quite clear. She's fully committed to making this world better, and you're the ones who agreed to lend a hand. Something she's obviously quite thankful for.
It's really not so bad around here. Despite the sky, and the state of the land, things are fairly calm. You've got plenty of time to get used to it, and each other. Maybe this'll be easier than it seems.

One raktajino, hot, extra slug foam. [a beat] Snail steaks, cooked medium rare. [his scowl deepens] Icoberry tort with whipped grub silk. [he's got a full on snarl now]
Come on, you stupid thing! Work! [and he's going to just uh...kick the oven with his toe, making a banging sound.] At least give me a panel to input recipes or something!
[later, after the kitchen debaucle, Quark is going to go for a walk around the area. He starts at the stairs in the temple, circling around the area clockwise and stepping into whatever areas he can and walking their parameter. Once that's done, he'll head through the Hero's Pavillion, circling the area and then their rooms, before moving on towards the garden, following around the parameter and then through the middle before he steps back out, walking the rest of the area until it finally takes him back to the gardens, and then back up the middle. He takes his time, checking out each area with seeming casualness (one might call it investigating had it seemed to have any more intent,) strolling through what they have access to, just listening. If there's any interesting or odd sounds, he'll move towards those, as long as they don't seem to take him anywhere too dangerous looking. And even then...he might consider it.
After that's done, he'll bring himself back to the scroll room where one might find him...doing some organizing. He unrolls every scroll and opens every tome he comes across, skims through it if it's legible, and then rolls it back up. He then sets it in some kind of order that he's apparently got in his head, working through the available material.
Once he's done that to his own content, he heads back towards the gardens, stopping just outside. There, he clears his throat, before speaking out loud, voice raised:]
Athena. If you'd be so kind, I'd like to have a word or two with you.

...are you fighting with the oven?

What? [he frowns, looking annoyed and frustrated] What's an oven?

[Proceeds to load up the coffee maker and start it, hopping up to sit on the counter as it begins percolating.]
Did being tactful not work?

I feel like we ought to put up a sign determining the sorting order so we do not have everyone sorting them separately.

What, you got a system going already or something?

It would be nice to have some organization in here... Have you found anything particularly interesting? About the history of this place, possibly? I didn't have much luck last night...
[Admittedly, this is because he kept getting distracted reading just about every single scroll he opened, but that is not the point!!]
no subject
Not much yet. At this point I'm mainly sorting through what's burned and what's not.

[Still not saying hi, but yeah. Misane has periodically checked if someone has come by to reorganize the scrolls, and she takes mental note of it. It's...kind of frustrating, if she has to be honest, but whatever]

At the moment? [now he looks over, a mildly annoyed look on his face] Illegible, partially legible, somewhat legible, mostly legible, and actually legible.

You're gonna make yourself deaf if you keep the yellin' up.
[And then there's this asshole, perching himself on the count, watching the sad comedy hour show starring the main star from the stars, Quark.]
D'ya not know how to use an oven?
[Rhetorical question, he already knows the answer he's basically offering to help in a roundabout way]
no subject
[he glances at Ranma perching on the counter, pausing for half a moment to give him a bemused look because what are you doing up there]
If by oven, you mean this thing--[he waves a hand at the oven lmao]--then no, I don't. It doesn't even a panel to input recipes.

Doesn't work like that. Sorry. You're gonna have to cook if you want any... D'you say snail steaks?
[ He is, for the record, a lot less...wound up than yesterday. Still carrying an overwhelming aura of anxiety, but more down-to-earth. ]
no subject
And yeah, I did. It's a popular dish! I usually get it once a week or so. It's more an evening kinda dish, but I was just hoping to get anything at all out of this thing. [he eyes Alex, tilting his head in question]
But apparently it doesn't work like that, huh? So how does it work?

Athena
[She sounds just out of Quark's view for a couple agonizing seconds. Then, she's standing over the gardens, peering down sullenly at them before looking up to him.]
How may I assist, Quark?
no subject
What a joy it is to see your lovely face again. [cheerfully] I know you're probably quite busy, but if you could spare me some time, I thought we could go for a walk and do a little cultural exchange. I ask you a question, you ask me a question...since you mentioned wanting to expand your mind, it'd be a good way for us to both learn something new!
